  • Take up-to-date emergency contact info for each the children in your care
  • Label bottles when caring for more than one child
  • Donít forget toys, books and other activities to keep children interested

Items to include in a bag for infants
2 and under
:
  • Diapers (five per child)
  • Baby wipes
  • Scented baggies (for diaper disposal)
  • Portable changing pad
  • Change of clothes (for both infant and adult, in case baby spits up on your shirt)
  • Baby bottle (pre-filled with correct amount of infant formula)
  • Bottle of water
  • Baby food and plastic spoons (for older infants)
  • Sippy cup
  • Ziplock bags (helpful in keeping items dry)
  • Pacifiers (one per child)
  • Fever reducer
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Emergency contact book (include: parentís phone number, pediatricianís phone number, childís birthdate, current weight, allergy info, local poison control hotline)
  • Burping cloth
  • Toys
Items to include in a bag for toddlers
ages 2 Ė 5
:
  • Extra underwear (in case of accidents)
  • Change of clothes for child
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Band aids
  • Emergency contact book (include: parentís phone number, pediatricianís phone number, childís birthdate, current weight, allergy info, local poison control hotline)
  • Bottle of water
  • Spill-proof cups designed for older kids
  • Snacks (fruit wonít stay fresh long un-refrigerated; dry cereal and crackers in a hard container work well)
  • Hand wipes
  • Toys and books
